The C2C Innovation Celebration Celebration took place on 15 November at the IAC headquarters in New York City. This prestigious event was organized by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute to honour leaders and present the winners of the Cradle to Cradle Product Innovation Challenge with a shared cash prize of 250,000 USD.

Together with Michael Braungart and William McDonough, the event was attended by industry leaders from all over the world to share their thoughts and celebrate years of innovation by some of the world’s largest companies. The mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, and Wendy and Eric Schmidt (CEO of Google) were honorary chairs.

Celebrity guests included Rosario Dawson, Anna Getty, James Hackett, Susan Sarandon, Frederique van der Wal and Elettra Wiedemann, with musical entertainment by Chuck Leavell, environmental lobbyist and former keyboard player with the Rolling Stones.

The day before, EMG also attended the exclusive gathering of European business leaders at the Steelcase WorkLife Center. The panel discussion was moderated by Jo Confino, executive editor of the Guardian and chairman & editorial director of Guardian Sustainable Business.

EMG also took part in the ‘Cradle to Cradle & Sustainability Marketing Leadership Roundtable’ held at the New York office of Perkins and Will, the global architecture and design firm. The group, consisting of professionals from businesses and NGOs, talked about challenges and opportunities in promoting Cradle to Cradle, and how to accelerate successful implementation.

Bridgett Luther, President of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, recently said of EMG: “We recognize the fact that effective positioning and communications are essential for realizing the full commercial potential of Cradle to Cradle certification, and EMG is a great partner for us to help companies achieve this.”

The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute is an international non-profit organization created to administer the Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard. It was co-founded in 2010 by William McDonough and Michael Braungart with support from Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Wendy Schmidt and Brad Pitt.
